Delivering Your Baby

When your baby is ready to be born, you will be taken to a special labor/delivery/recovery room. You will remain in this single room through your labor and delivery, and spend some time in this room following delivery before being transferred into the postpartum area.

Your physician will continue monitoring to check on you and your baby's condition. Your husband or support person will be right by your side during the birth, if you desire.

Specially-trained nurses will assist you and your doctor during these final moments. Your husband or coach may take photographs to preserve this exciting time, provided it is a low risk vaginal delivery. Video cameras, digital or traditional, are not allowed in any area of the Pavilion.

Before the delivery, have a discussion with your physician about any pain medication you wish to receive. If at any time during labor you feel you need pain medication, just let your nurse know.
