Respiratory Care Services
Respiratory care services are available on an inpatient and outpatient basis at Antelope Valley Hospital to ensure that anyone who has a breathing problem can obtain the help he or she needs. Our specialists are always on site and ready with advanced equipment to help in any department, from the emergency department to the intensive care unit and the newborn nursery or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). They also reach out to the community, offering guidance and care for people with chronic respiratory conditions.
Highly experienced and trained in both the diagnosis and treatment of breathing problems, our respiratory therapists draw on their experience to assess patient needs and offer appropriate care, as quickly and effectively as possible. They also work to help patients and their families understand the purpose, benefits, equipment and steps of each test or therapy.
Who Needs Respiratory Care Services?
Almost anyone could require respiratory care services at some point, and Antelope Valley Hospital is prepared to offer the care that is needed. There are also several categories of patients with unique or on-going needs. The respiratory care department has the training, equipment and resources that are vital for providing these individuals with the medical care they must have, and the information they need to understand and sometimes manage their own conditions.
Meeting Your Needs, Today and Tomorrow
Antelope Valley Hospital is fully equipped and staffed to meet all respiratory care needs, and is committed to ensuring that our growing community will have expert respiratory care for years to come. To this end, we were instrumental in developing the first respiratory therapy educational program at Antelope Valley College, and our hospital now offers clinical rotations for students attending this program.
